Holiday Cheer

John and I finished making this Christmas wreath this week.  It is made out of  PVC pipes and then glued together with pipe glue and sprayed with paint.  This actually was the second one we made.  The first one was glued with our hot glue gun.  The glue did not work due to the cold temperatures we get up here and exploded.   It was interesting to make but worth all the problems.

Hope all have a wonderful Christmas this year.

Thunderbirds are in town this weekend!

Yesterday John and I parked near the south end of the runway and watched the Thunderbirds fly overhead.  I think that we had one of the best seats in the Flathead Valley to watch them from.  They were loud and fast as the flew overhead but it was worth it.

Snow Geese on Freezeout Lake

Last Saturday we drove over to the east side of the divide to witness the bi annual snow geese migration through Montana.  It was a sight to see.  The paper indicated that there were about 30,000 to 40,000 snow geese on the lake Saturday morning.

Look at what we saw this past weekend!

Last weekend while drive on dirt roads just North of Flathead Lake we were amazed at the flocks of Trumpeter Swans resting in flooded fields.  Yes, we saw many different types of ducks and geese but the swans took center stage.  We could hear their call both in the fields and up in the skies overhead.  It was a magical weekend one not soon to be forgotten.
