Windmill of the past

Last Saturday we were driving around the dirt roads of Molt Montana. When I saw this windmill I just had to take it's picture. We also saw lots of birds of prey, Bald Eagles and many different types of hawks. We even got a glimpse of a Ring Neck Pheasant running across the road ahead of us. There were numerous abandoned homesteads doting the horizon standing as testimony to the past.

Went to Yellowstone Park after the first of the year.

This lucky fellow was just sunning himself next to the road heading towards Cook City from Mammoth in Yellowstone National Park. It was a cold but sunny day. The temps ranged from -16 degrees heading towards Cook City and then returning back through the Lamar Valley towards Mammoth Hot Springs the temps jumped up to 11 degrees. We saw about three Coyotes, five large bull elks, one cottontail and many bison on our trip through the upper Yellowstone that day.

This is one of my favorite pictures. Taken 8/12/2007 midway up Bowman Lake in Glacier National Park.
